Hands are ranked in the same way as five-card draw. For games where there are wildcards, there are additional hands that include the wildcard, such as five of a kind. A royal flush made with a wildcard is considered a lower ranking hand than a regular royal flush. Wildcards
A wildcard is a nominated card that can be used in the place of any other card. For example, the twos may be declared ‘wild’. If you needed an ace to make up a hand, you could use a 2 instead of an ace. Alternatively, a joker may be wild. If, for example, you needed a queen to make up a hand, you could use the joker in its place. By allowing cards to be wild, higher ranking hands are easier to achieve. If the twos are wild then Jh, Jd, 2h, 7c, 3s would be a hand of three of a kind with jacks, where the two becomes a jack. If the joker is wild then a hand of 10h, 10d, 10c, Ah, joker would be a four of a kind. The joker becomes a 10.
With wildcards, an additional hand of five of a kind is also possible. The ranking of five of a kind depends on the game played.
